Single Exhausts Versus V-Twin Exhausts

The purpose for any exhausts system, be it a car or motorbike, is simply to release any unused engine gasses into the atmosphere. Hence, the exhausts system is important in any automobile so as to keep it running smoothly. However, there is the option of either retaining the single exhausts or replacing it with v-twin exhausts, especially when it comes to motorcycles. Let's look at some of the features of these two systems in order to make it easy for you to make a choice.
i) Single motorcycle exhaust
Normally when you buy a motorcycle, it comes with a single exhaust system. This is the regular one exhaust pipe at the side of the bike. This is mostly because the single exhaust is the easiest and cheapest way to make the bike. It is simpler for the manufacturers to make the bike with one exhaust, leading to another advantage that the materials made to make it are more durable
The single motorcycle exhausts unlike the v-twins, are wide in diameter. This helps the pipe gain high velocity without much restriction. No wonder most sport bikes have dual exhausts. This is because single exhausts lighter. While racing you would not want the bike to weigh you down and so most sport bikes have single exhausts to make them lighter and therefore faster.
ii) V-Twin motorcycle exhausts
V-twin exhausts are usually made on demand to the manufacturer. You can also get them from certain dealerships and have them made for your bikes specific year, make and brand. They lead to increased performance of your bike. They also increase the aesthetics of your bike, making it look cooler. However, they do come at a price as v-twin exhausts are more costly as compared to the single motorcycle exhaust.
Once they are put the bike becomes known as a high performance machine. The horsepower of the bike increases massively and you will notice the difference immediately. V-twins also produce great torque and so are great to ride on corners. However, the v-twin exhausts are heavier and so don't think of using them while racing as they will drag you down.
V-twin exhaust pipes are also narrower in size thus causing great gas flow between the pipes. This leads to the conclusion that the air produced by the v-twin exhausts is better for the environment as it goes t. This is due to the fact that it is more broken down compared to the single exhaust that releases gases from one pipe.
From comparing the two exhausts systems, you can be able to know which exhausts system will suit you better. When it comes to price, you must know which one you can afford. Likewise, when it comes to speed you must know which system will increase your overall horsepower. If you want one cool looking bike, then you know which one is best to attract members of the opposite sex or same sex, whatever you prefer. For that reason, you decide which of the two is better.
